SHOAL BAY FORESHORE RESERVE

Public BBQ

Shoal Bay Foreshore Reserve unfolds as a coastal sanctuary where waterfront walking tracks weave between towering Port Jackson fig trees and pristine swimming waters. The reserve's network of paths stretches to each end of the bay and beyond, offering accessibility alongside natural beauty. Picnic tables dot the lawns beneath shady canopies, while BBQ facilities cater to families seeking the perfect barbie spot. The main attraction lies in the remarkably calm waters - a rarity along Australia's coastline - where visitors occasionally share swimming space with resident penguins. For the more adventurous, a 30-minute climb to the mountain vantage point rewards with panoramic views that justify every step. The beachfront maintains its pristine condition, supported by convenient paid parking and proximity to a couple of waterfront cafes.
